Pres. Aquino Urges Roxas, Poe, And Other Rivals To Unite Against Duterte
President Benigno Aquino III recently said that he wants Mar Roxas to unite with his rival candidates to work together in order to stop the winning of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
In a report by GMA News, PNoy said that he had been communication with Roxas, Vice President Jejomar Binay, and Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago. He also added that he even reached out for Grace Poe through text messages.
This is because of Aquino’s desire for the other presidential candidates to join forces versus Duterte.
According to CNN Philippines, Pres. Aquino said that he referred to the statements of Duterte to be threatening, also the closing of the Congress if Duterte would be impeached.
“I am trying to get all of these different voices together and in that sense, perhaps help our candidate get together and have that united front,” said Aquino as quoted in the article.
Duterte has been consistent on top of the ratings making one think that the big chance for the Davao mayor to be the next president of the Philippines.
The President then expresses his fears of the ‘consequences’ that might arise if Duterte would really win the elections on Monday, May 9 because, according to him, Duterte “does exactly what he intends to do.”
Aquino even said that the unity of the other presidential candidates will improve the chances of winning against Duterte.
He also said that the 30 percent of Duterte’s survey can be defeated by the 70 percent left from the other candidates if it united as one.
He also pointed out if Mar and Grace would unite, it would be enough to stop the winning of Duterte.

The LP administration has maligned both Binay and Poe the whole time and now seeks their help. There must be a big, big reason why LP desperately wants Roxas to be the next president, and they are doing everything at any cost (literally!) just to prevent a Duterte win. I could only guess that these moves are terroristic in nature: sowing unfounded fear and terror among the people, and I could only guess as well that it is a criminal liability under our laws.
Well, as for the last minute call for whatever the real reason is, it’s pretty TOO LATE.
Thats a sign of “Panic”. What is he afraid of? All candidates met the qualification for the position. I think Filipino voters are intelligent enough to vote for who they think can lead the country to the right direction. God bless the Philippines
