More than 167,000 jobs in labor day 2016
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz announced on Friday, April 29, 2016 over 167,000 job vacancies in Labor Day, May 1, 2016.
“The 54 job fairs will be held simultaneously nationwide. These will be held in different venues in 17 regions under the overall supervision of the DOLE,” she said.
Based upon the report of Interaksyon.com, the upcoming job fair highlights the department’s drive in developing the workers and generate more decent and productive jobs.
According to the labor secretary, 54 job fairs will be administered within the country. At least 1,112 employers will gather for a total of 167,924 job vacancies.
44.74 percent or approximately 75,137 jobs are available for local while 54.94 percent or 92,257 job vacancies for international or overseas and .32 percent or 530 jobs are available for government.
“These numbers are preliminary and may increase,” she said.
“As Labor Day approaches, the number of both participating employers and job vacancies are expected to increase, so job seekers of all types nationwide need to prepare to join the 54 job fairs,” the secretary added.
