Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos who is now running for Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines fulfilled his wish as he got the support of the leading political party in Cebu Province, One Cebu during his campaign rally in the island of Bantayan in Northern Cebu. Sen. Bongbong Marcos earned the endorsement of the party lead by Cebu’s political clan, the Garcia Family.
The Vice Presidential candidate from the Solid North of the Philippines, Sen. Bongbong Marcos got the endorsement of the Cebu’s Fourth District Rep. Benhur Salimbangon, the head of the National Unity Party (NUP) in Cebu Province. The NUP is also one of the members of the powerful One Cebu Party of the Garcia Family.
During the campaign rally inside the Multi-Purpose Gym of Bantayan, Rep. Salimbangon asked the more than 3,000-strong crowd who their vice president is and they responded “Bongbong Marcos.” The senator visited the province of Cebu for the second time during the campaign period due to Salimbangon’s invitation.
Bantayan town mayor Ian Christopher Escario revealed during the gatherings at the multi-purpose hall of Bantayan that is family is a loyal supporter of the Marcoses. The Escarios dominated the municipality of Bantayan’s political scene for more than 90 years according to some sources from the island.
The senator also held his campaign last March 18 seeking to woo 2.7 million registered voters of Cebu. During which, he also earned the endorsement of Cordova Mayor Adelino Sitoy.
