The Philippines second presidential debate on national TV featured the four aspiring president after Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago skipped the debate due to some health reasons. Based upon the debates topics, graft and corruption emerged as the de facto theme in the highly charged second presidential debate at the University of the Philippines in Cebu City.

The four candidates, Vice President Jejomar Binay, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Sen. Grace Poe and Mar Roxas ended up ganging up on a beleaguered Vice President Jejomar Binay, who was put on the hot seat several times during the face-off.
Vice President Binay was grilled during the debate as he found himself on the defensive end of accusations of his alleged dirty deals and transactions during his decade-long stint as Mayor of the country’s financial district, Makati City.
Sen. Grace Poe engaged in drawing punching with the former Makati City mayor which was also supported by Mar Roxas. One of the question thrown at VP Binay was his refusal to face corruption allegations in the Senate and challenged his promise to pursue transparency.
Mayor Rodrigo Duterte emerged as the sure winner during the second presidential debate due to his honest and direct confrontation with his fellow candidates and his direct-to-the-point answered on various political issues in the Philippines.
