Real-life celebrity couple Jericho Rosales and Janine Gutierrez shared their thoughts on “loyalty.”
Jericho and Janine found themselves exploring the deeper meaning of trust while filming their latest series, The Loyalty Game.
Based on the article in Manila Bulletin, during a recent press conference for their new series, the two were asked if their real-life views on fidelity evolved during production, prompting them to share how the project triggered unique discussions on the subject.
Janine Gutierrez said that her perspective on this matter remained the same. “Parang namulat lang ako siguro lalo kung gaano siya kahalaga and how far some people will go to make sure that their partner is loyal to them. So kung wala talaga yung loyalty, hindi impossible na kumapit ka sa patalim,” the Kapamilya actress said.
Janine further explained by citing her character in the series, Anna. “Just like Anna, yung character ko, kailangan niya kumuha ng tester dahil mahal na mahal niya yung asawa niya and sa tingin niya yun na lang yung paraan to save their marriage,” Janine said.
For Jericho, he views loyalty from another angle. “Based on my character, parang it wasn’t enough for him to be loyal. He had to actually take care of what goes on in Anna’s mind and kind of like manipulate it para at peace si Anna,” the actor shared.
Playing Ben was a challenge for Jericho to get into, but he walked away from the role having learned a valuable lesson.
It took some work for Jericho to fully connect with Ben’s character, but the experience gave him a meaningful takeaway.
Jericho Rosales also said that the lesson in this is to go beyond because, for him, it is not just enough to be loyal. The actor highlighted the importance of going out of your way to make the people you love feel assured.
Meanwhile, Jericho and Janine’s relationship continues to bloom. Previously, Janine’s mom, veteran actress Lotlot de Leon, shared how she supports her daughter’s relationship with the actor. Lotlot even appreciated that Jericho traveled several miles in Canada just to show support for her, as her movie was part of the film festival in the said country.
