Mayor Duterte Wins Netizens’ Votes During the 2nd Presidential Debate

The Philippines most popular presidential candidate on social media, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte of Davao City, once again dominated the netizens votes during the second presidential debate held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the University of the Philippines in Cebu City. Based on Rappler poll, the Davao City Mayor came out on top with 67 votes, or 59.82% of the total votes.

One of the country’s leading news organization, Rappler released an online poll during the day of the debate which shows that Mayor Rody Duterte wins the presidential debate.

The Mayor of Davao City is followed by Sen. Grace Poe with 24 votes (21.43%), former interior secretary Manuel Roxas II with 19 votes (16.96%). Vice President Jejomar Binay came in last with only 2 votes (1.79%). The only presidential candidate who was not present during the national televised debate is Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago who announced earlier that she will undergo a clinical trial for an anti-cancer pil.

The COMELEC presidential debate was hosted by veteran journalist and TV host Luchi Cruz-Valdez as moderator. Some of the issues discussed during the presidential debate were about climate change, disaster preparedness, education, women’s right, and health.

TV5 and Philippine Star hosted the second presidential debate featuring panelists who includes, Erwin Tulfo, Ruphil Bañoc, Lourd de Veyra, Marichu Villanueva, Ana Marie Pamintuan, and Bloomberg TV Philippines host and economist Tony Abad.Mayor Duterte Round 2
