An official of the ruling Liberal Party of the Philippines Rep. Edgar Erice, the political affairs chief of LP denied the allegations that Mar Roxas experienced a “breakdown” during the super typhoon Yolanda disaster that struck the country. Rep. Erice also noted that Mayor Duterte is a bad influence to the youth and “may katok.”
In an interview with the high-ranking LP officer, Rep. Erice stated that Mayor Duterte was not present during the day when typhoon Yolanda struck Tacloban, Leyte. He was quoted as saying “Wala siya doon sa Leyte during the typhoon. Madaling patunayan ‘yan. Nagsisinungaling siya,” Rep. Erice stated.
Mayor Rodrigo Duterte earlier revealed during an interview with Mike Enriquez that he witness when Mar Roxas breakdown during Typhoon Yolanda. The mayor was quoted as saying “I was there on Day 2, si Mar nagka-breakdown,” Duterte said. “I was there. I was talking to him. Nag-mo-monologue siya.” Duterte noted.
The tough-talking Mayor of Davao City added further that “He was not acting like a person who was in charge of a disaster (relief operation), giving commands or critical orders.”
As a response to Mayor Duterte’s revelation that Mar Roxas experienced breakdown during the relief and rescue efforts, Rep. Erice stated that it is not right to compare Mar Roxas to Mar Rody Duterte. The congressman explained that “Siya ang kakaiba, siya ang parang may katok,” Rep. Erice said referring to Mayor Duterte.
The Liberal Party leader cited an example of Mayor Duterte’s dealing with the people and even with Pope Francis speaking bad words to some people. He stated “Masamang impluwensiya ‘yan sa mga kabataan. Pati nga yung apo kong nanonood, akala tama ang ginagawa niya, kaya sabi ko sa apo ko, ‘hindi, may katok ‘yan. ‘Wag mong pakinggan,” the congressman stated.
