The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) movie entry “Beauty and the Beastie” is now the official highest-grossing film of all time in the Philippines. In an exclusive interview with Pep.ph, director Wenn Deramas revealed that the movie overtook the P480-million domestic record set by “A Second Chance.”
According to Star Cinema the official box office income of the movie “Beauty and the Beastie” has earned more than P481 million as of Tuesday night.
The box office income of the movie featuring Vice Ganda and Coco Martin overtook the record set by the John Lloyd and Bea Alonzo movie titled “A Second Chance.” The income doesn’t include the film’s box-office returns from international screenings.
Globally, “Beauty and the Bestie” has a long way to go before eclipsing the P556 million worldwide record of “A Second Chance.” Star Cinema has yet to release the international box office figures for “Beauty and the Bestie.”
The highest grossing MMFF movie entry for 2015 is still showing in more than 100 cinemas nationwide.
