The country’s weather bureau, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on their December 19, 2015 weather bulletin that Bagyong Onyok weakens and now considered as a Low Pressure Area (LPA) after it made a landfall in Davao Oriental.
PAGASA noted that Bagyong Onyok made a landfall in the vicinity of Manay, Davao Oriental in the CARAGA region of Mindanao.
Based upon the 11:00 AM update of PAGASA, the Low Pressure Area (LPA), which was formerly known as Tropical Depression Onyok was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Ampatuan, Maguindanao.
PAGASA also lifted all the Public Storm Warning Signals, but warned the Filipino public that moderate to occasionally heavy rains will affect portions of Surigao Del Norte, Surigao Del Sur, Agusan Del Sur, and Agusan Del Norte.
Strong to gale force winds is expected to affect the Northern, Eastern and Western seaboards of Luzon and the Eastern seaboard of Visayas and Mindanao.
