The national football team of Bahrain defeated the visiting Philippine Azkals on Tuesday night at the home court of the Bahrainis with the final score of 2-0 in favor of the Middle Eastern football powerhouse.

The Philippines defeat in Group H of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying tournament is the second loss for the national team after they were defeated earlier by Uzbekistan.
Bahrain on the other hand picked up only its second win in the qualifying tournament, increasing its tally to six points but still behind the Azkals who settled at the third spot with 7 points.
The Azkals yielded two goals in a span of eight minutes as the Filipinos lost for the second time in five matches of the World Cup qualifiers.
