The Philippine Azkals defeated Yemen on their second qualifying match for the 2018 FIFA World Cup as they made history once again defeating the home side with a convincing 2-0 victory against powerhouse Middle Eastern side Yemen. The game was held at the Qatar SC Stadium, the host of Yemen’s home matches.

Azkals veteran Misagh Bahadoran scored the first goal for the Azkals after a scoreless first half during the 53rd minute of the game through a brilliant pass from China-based footballer Javier Patino.
The second goal for the Azkals was courtesy of Filipino-Australian footballer Iain Ramsay who scored a goal at 74th minutes from a cross-pass effort of Javier Patino who scored a total of two assists for the visiting Azkals side.
During the entire game, the Filipinos showcased their dominance against the Yemenis but failed to score in the first half, but in the second half of the game, the Azkals broke Yemen’s defense.
The Philippines is now on top of Group H in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, tied with league-leader North Korea who has also six points. North Korea will be the next opponent of the Philippine Azkals on their home-and-away match, the game will be held at the hostile home court of the North Koreans.
