Following the offer of Vice President Jejomar Binay to push ‘BEST’ tandem in 2016 polls, Manila Mayor Joseph Erap Estrada as the running mate, the latter has turned down the offer saying he is over with being the vice president.
“I am done being Vice President,” Estrada said.

Estrada emphasized that he has still a lot to do as the incumbent leader in Manila.
“Tapos na ‘yun. Marami pa akong gagawin dito sa ating lungsod ng Maynila. I’ve been there. Tama na. Natapos na ako du’n,” he said.
Estrada and Binay earlier led the flag raising and wreath-laying ceremonies at the monument of Dr. Jose Rizal, in line with the Independence Day celebration in Luneta.
Estrada, who served as the Vice President from 1992 to 1998, was eyed by Binay as his running mate and was then announced by Binay himself in an interview calling it as “Best” tandem.
Rejecting the offer, Estrada though said he was not closing his doors on running for another position other than coveting reelection as Manila mayor in 2016.
Manila Mayo also said Binay respects his decision
“Kung anu man ang sabihin ng Pangulo (Estrada) ay ating igagalang,” Binay said.
