Most likely, the challenging part in every pageant is the Question and Answer portion where candidates are given limited time to answer questions which are often unexpected.
Indeed, it was a dream come true for five beauties coming from different parts of the country to advance to the final Q and A to determine who will fit the respective crowns into one’s head.
While other candidates was able to answer the questions given by the judges, beauty queen Jona Sweett was given a question from a Facebook user during the Miss Philippines Earth pageant held Sunday night.
Asked, “what are the things parents can learn from their children?”, Sweett wasn’t able to give her complete answer within the limited time.
The 19-year-old beauty from Iloilo said she was not prepared for that question.
“I can’t get over that. I’m still embarrassed about it. But I wasn’t really expecting that question because I was preparing about environmental questions,” she said on “Mornings@ANC” on Monday.
She said she did her research about current events and was not expecting the question.
“It’s really hard for two months that we didn’t have TV. I studied current events like BBL, increase of teacher’s salary and the earthquake in Nepal. They threw that Facebook question. I wasn’t really prepared for that po. It was out of the topic,” she said.
Despite missing the part, Sweet winning the Miss Eco Tourism 2015 title said Miss Philippines Earth acknowledge that God has bigger plans for her.
“Before I joined this pageant, I was just a simple teenager dreaming to become a beauty queen. When I was younger, I joined local pageants. I was always the runner up. Now that I’m one of the elements [of Miss Philippines Earth], I know that God has bigger plans for me. I just feel so blessed,” she disclosed.
