It was an easy battle for Taishan Dong the moment he positioned himself inside the ring, he knew that time he’ll win. But more to this, he looks more like an NBA player than a boxer.
Dong is a knock-out hit in the United States considering his height and his noc-out power.
The Chinese heavyweight, a seven-foot tall and weigh close to 300 pounds, scored an easy-first round knockout over Lance Gauch on May 22 in Indio, Calif.
The 27-year-old boxer from Lanzhou, China used his leverage to drop the American with one right hand.
Dong is trained by former two-time world champion James “buddy” McGirt and promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.
Though has towering height, Dong’s weak level of opposition makes it hard to tell yet if he’ll be a top contented in the heavyweight division.
He is not the first seven-footer to win a heavyweight championship.
