Why Liza Soberano Left GMA Network

The Filipino-American and kapamilya young actress, tagged as “the Leading Lady to watch for,” Liza Soberano shares her reasons why she left the ABS-CBN rival network GMA-7.

The star of the newest hit TV series “Forevermore” was a kapuso artist at one point. However, she decided to withdraw her contract only a week after she signed up with the network.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Liza Soberano said the GMA Artist Center first offered her a contract after she auditioned to the rival networks at the same time.  But after she signed the contract, the Star Magic called her after a week.

Although there were already projects lined to her, she didn’t think twice to released her contract from GMA to accept the offer of ABS-CBN to be their talent.

While clarifying that she doesn’t have bad relations with GMA, Liza Soberano said, “Noong pumunta ako doon (GMA), alam mo ‘yung… I didn’t feel at home. Siyempre gusto ko kung magtatrabaho ako, masaya ako sa [environment ko].”

The 16-year-old star was launched as a Star Magic artist in 2013 alongside with Jane Oineza, Janella Salvador, Julia Barretto, Jerome Ponce, Michelle Vito and Kit Thompson.

She has appeared as a third wheel to the  famous love team of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla in the movie “Must Be.. Love” and in the defunct Tv series “Got To Believe.”

Liza Soberano’s last big screen project is the romantic film “She’s The One” with Enrique Gil. The two are also set to star in the upcoming Wattpad-based movie “The Bet.”
