The management of the Manila North Cemetery announced on Saturday, that private cars will no longer be allowed to enter the area starting on Thursday, October 30, 2014 in preparation for the yearly celebration of All Saints and All Soul’s Day on November 1 and November 2, 2014.
According to Daniel Tan, the cemetery’s officer-in-charge, in an interview with ABS-CBN, he stated that they will not allow private cars to enter the vicinity in the next few days to secure the area.
He was quoted as saying “Sa umaga po ng October 30 bawal na pong magpapasok ng pribadong sasakyan,” he stated in an interview with DzMM. The management of the Manila North Cemetery also announced that like in the past, visitors are not allowed to bring bladed weapons, sharp objects, playing cards, and any kind of sound system inside the cemetery.
According to the management of the Manila North Cemetery which is under the City of Manila, there are new toilets inside the cemetery which are readily available to the public, the cemetery will no longer install portable toilets as what the past administrations did.
The Manila Cemetery through their official website, will also provide an easy way to locate the tombs of their loved ones even before visiting the cemetery, which is considered as one of the oldest and largest in Metro Manila areas.
The City of Manila will also provide 500 members of the Manila Police District while the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau, alongside the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will be deployed in an and around the Manila North Cemetery.
