Senator Nancy Binay grabbed the attentions of netizens as her morning outfit before the highly anticipated SONA 2014 of President Aquino generated memes online. Some netizens posted photos of the Senator comparing her attire to a hot air balloon and other comical characters when she was spotted wearing a Randy Ortiz creation.
Various social networking sites and blogs based in the Philippines posted some generated memes of the Senator for the sake of humour. The 41-year-old Nancy Binay was wearing a gown which was a cross between a Filipiniana and the Korean Hanbok.
Sen. Nancy Binay changed her outfit in the afternoon, but she noted that the “supposed bashing” of her morning outfit had nothing to do with her decision to wear a different gown in the afternoon of the President’s SONA and the first ever joint session of Philippine Senate and the House of Representative for the year 2014.
During the red carpet in the afternoon at the Batasan Pambansa, Sen. Binay denied the allegations that her change of outfit was due to social media comments and memes against generated against her. The Senator just noted that she was unfazed with the negative reactions of her gown and was already used to online bashing.
