The story behind the viral wedding video of dying cancer patient Rowden Go who tied the knot with his wife Leizel Go, hours before he passed away was exclusively shared in an interview with ABS-CBN morning show, “Umagang Kay Ganda” on Thursday, June 26, 2014.
According to Leizel Go, she and her late husband were supposed to get married last July 8, 2014. However, due to his condition, they decided to coined a wedding ceremony at the Philippine General Hospital where he was confined because of Stage IV liver cancer.
“Actually ‘yung wedding namin sa July 8, naka-schedule na po ‘yun sa birthday niya,” Leizel Go shared. Noong nalaman na ‘yung sakit niya, parang sinabi noong doktor na ‘yung mga gusto ng pasyente, ‘yung mga gusto niyang gawin, ibigay na sa kanya,” she added.
Leizel Go shared that their nuptials was one of her late husband’s last requests. Hasset Go, the brother of Rowden on the other hand recalled how happy his brother is after he learned that he is going to marry his girlfriend Leizel.
Hasset Go also explained why he decided to upload the wedding video of his brother Rowden on YouTube which continues to dominate garnering more than 2.4 millions of views.
Hasset Go recalled that he moved unto tears while watching the wedding video of his late brother and he noted that there’s nothing to hinder them upon sharing the video online.
During their interview earlier, Hasset Go said that he felt upset for negative versions of his brother’s wedding video which appears to be intimidating on their part as they continues to grieve on the death Rowden.
