Edgardo “John Doe” Sampana has been revealed on Friday, May 16, 2014 by veteran broadcast journalist Tony Calvento on his Facebook page as another suspect in the mauling of actor-TV host Vhong Navarro last January 22, 2014.
According to Tony Calvento, John Doe, the man identified by Vhong Navarro as one of the suspects in his attack is Edgardo Sampana. The veteran broadcaster previously reported the involvement of the suspect last April 20, 2014.
Based upon the report of Tony Calvento, John Doe was the one holding the “It’s Showtime” co-host along with Zimmer Raz and Bernice Lee as they escorted Vhong Navarro on the elevator of Forbeswood Heights condominium.
Tony Calvento noted that he was able to talk with Edgardo “John Doe” Sampana over the phone as he was trying to facilitate Jed Fernandez to surrender.
Jed Fernandez reportedly applied as state-witness on Vhong Navarro case, however, he purportedly backed out. Edgardo Sampana or John Doe will now be included as one of the suspect in the attack of the actor-host.
Meanwhile, Cedric Lee and Simeon “Zimmer Raz” Palma were previously nabbed in a joint entrapment operation of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and Philippine National Police last month in Oras, Eastern Samar.
Controversial model Deniece Cornejo recently surrendered to the authorities. Vhong Navarro and other suspects involved will venture for another investigation on the case.
Some of the suspects including Jose Paolo Calma and Ferdinand Guerrero are still at large.
