The camp of international singing sensation Charice demands an apology from American singer Rex Smith after she was insulted in a corporate show in Cebu City last Tuesday, February 11, 2014.
The incident happened at the Raddison Blu Hotel in Cebu City while Charice performs a sound check for a night show on February 11. According to the musical director of Charice, Troy Laureta the incident occurred during sound check.
In an exclusive interview with Pep.ph, the musical director stated that “I was up stage checking if everything sounding good and when I turned around, I saw that Rex Smith was on stage telling Charice to stop what she was doing.” he said.
Troy Laureta added further that “I actually told him that we’re in the middle of the sound check and he said that, ‘I’m an artist too and that I don’t wanna hear from you.'” Troy narrated.
The angry American singer Rex Smith was escorted outside of the venue after he started to shout angrily to Charice and her company. The 58-year-old Rex Smith is the singer who popularized the song “Love Will Always Make You Cry” and “Everlasting Love” to name a few.
Charice shows some respect to the American singer and she don’t want the issue to be sensationalized but the manager of Charice, Glenn Aldueza wanted the American singer to asked apology to the “Pyramid” singer.
According to the official statement of the singer’s camp, Charice still respected the Rex Smith, that is the reason why she did not answer back the American singer when she was insulted in front of some audience in Cebu.
Charice manager Glenn Aldueza made the following statement:
“Charice still respected him by not answering back.
“He ought to apologize to Charice.”
