Jayson Castillo: Honest Pinoy in Qatar Returns 250,000 Qatari Riyals (PhP3 Million)

Jayson Castillo made headlines in the Middle East particularly in Qatar after he returned the personal belongings of an individual inside a black pouch he found which contained a cellphone, cash and check amounting to 250,000 Qatari Riyals or approximately Php 3 Million.

The OFW who worked as gym receptionist got the praises not only from his fellow Filipinos but from other nationality for his honesty. He found the black pouch during his break at Al Khor’s Fitness First gym, the place where he worked.

During an interview with ABS-CBN he was quoted as saying “Kinabahan ako. Paano ko isasauli? Naibalik din po sa may ari. Hindi ko hangad na pag-interes saka nagkaroon ako ng takot,” he said.

Philippine Amb(–foul word(s) removed–)ador to Qatar Crescente Relacion lauded Jayson Castillo’s deed, the honest Pinoy worker was given a recognition during the graduation of OFW’s who completed an Information Technology course in Qatar.

The 24-year-old Jayson Castillo’s honesty got the praises from Qatar Labor Attache Pol de Jesus who encourage other Filipinos to do the same honesty as what Castillo have shown.

Right after Jayson Castillo saw the lost pouch, he immediately reported it to authorities his find. The owner thanks Castillo for his honesty and revealed that the money inside was for the salary of his employees.

Jayson Castillo is a newcomer in Qatar having worked for just two months, he called the (–foul word(s) removed–)istance of his friend Joey Angeles over the phone to seek his advice on how to return what he had found.
