Super typhoon Yolanda entered the Philippine area of responsibility last November 8, 2013 Friday that struck some part of Visayas made a terrible mark as well as frustrations in the lives of Visayan people.
A newly released film made by an aid worker of Yolanda’s wrath shows the tsunami like power of its storm surge.
While others were praying, someone took the actual footage of storm surge and take refuge in the top floor of a boarding house and started filming.
His film shows the storm surge from Yolanda (international name Haiyan) completely wash away a house and destroyed some of the infrastructures in less than 30 seconds.
The storm originally packing 275kph (170 mph) winds, his footage also shows trees and houses bowing to the colossal forces.
While much of the boarding house he was in was flooded and destroyed, the person who took the video was back on his job only a few hours after the winds subsided looking to deliver aid for survivors.
Yolanda’s aftermath brought a lot of destruction including the lives that was lost because of typhoon.
The number of people displaced by the catastrophe is now estimated to be 4 million, up from an earlier estimate of 900,000.
