The Philippines dynamic duo of Dennis Orcullo and Lee Van Corteza were declared as winners on Monday at London after they defeated Neils Feijen and Nick van den Berg of Holland.

The Dennis Orcullo and Lee Van Corteza tandem defeated the Holland’s tandem with the final score at 10-8 in favor of the Philippines. The team became the second Filipino tandem who won the prestigious double’s event after the legendary pair of Efren “Bata” Reyes and Francisco “Django” Bustamante dominated the event during the year 2006 and 2009.

Dennis Orcullo made a name for himself in the world of pool masters as he won the World 8-Ball Championship and the WPA Player of the in 2011. The 34-year-old Dennis credited the Filipino crowd support during the entire competition.

Meanwhile Lee Van Corteza is best best known for his successful career as he won four Gold Medals and one Silver Medal during the Southeast Asian Games. During the game against Holland in London, Cortez pocketed a difficult long shot on the No. 8 to clean the table while Orcullo took care of the 18th rack for the victory.
