The world’s most popular search engine and technology giant Google is currently looking for software engineers to join its team in Mountain View, California, the company is eyeing for Southeast Asian countries as source of the much-needed talents instead of the US.
Google sent out a job posting for interest applicants from Southeast Asia, the company is looking for potential software engineers to join its team but they must have graduated from any university in Southeast Asia.
According to the tech giant Google, interest applicants need not have extensive background in software development or programming, they only requires a minimum of one year relevant software development experience, aside from excellent coding skills.
The candidate once hired will be a member of “small and verstatile team” that will test, deploy, and maintain the company’s software systems. The company, however, did not specify or elaborate further, which particular product category the applicant will be working on.
Other qualifications for the post are as follows:
- BA/BS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
- 1 year relevant work experience, including experience with UNIX/Linux or Windows environments, distributed systems, machine learning, information retrieval and TCP/IP.
- Excellent coding skill in C, C++, Java or Python.
Preferred qualifications:
- MS or PhD degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
- Experience in network programming and/or developing or designing large software systems.
