Iran Defeated China Score Tops Group C (Highlights Video)

The Group C is composed of the top three teams in the competition, the FIBA Asia 2013 featuring, China, Iran and South Korea. Iran proved to be the most prepared team as they defeated China with the final score at 70-51.

The two-time Asian champion Iran completes a sweep after they first defeated South Korea and Malaysia during their first two games of the competition. Iran joins Kazakhstan and Qatar as the top three teams in each group.

With ailing Chinese star Yi Jianlian sitting out, the Persians pounced early, taking a 26-15 lead in the first quarter before finishing the half with a 41-24 edge. Four of the Iranians scored in double figurs in one of their most balanced performance.

Despite China’s loss they can still moved on to the next round of the competition as they secured a 1-2 card ranking third over-all in Group C behind no. 1 ranked Iran and second ranked-team South Korea.
