The Philippine Azkals defeated the visiting Asian powerhouse team, Turkmenistan with the final score at 1-0 from a lone goal made by Phil Younghusband at around 67th minutes.
Phil scored from a play started by Cagara p(–foul word(s) removed–)ing to Patino but Phil got control of the ball and smashed the net with an impressive goal. The Philippine Azkals attempted 10 shots compared to Turkmenistan’s 14. The Azkals were able to unleashed 6 shots on targets and one of them got on goal while the Turkmenistan has a total of 7 shots on target but failed to score.
Phil Younghusband was able to scored his 33rd international goals for the Philippines, despite Phil’s achievement, the Philippines suffered a blow from a red card given to the striker.
The Philippines will now moved on to the next round of competition, the AFC Challenge Cup Finals to be held in Maldives going up against the best qualifiers in Asia. A win in Maldives will put the Philippines into the Asian Cup 2015 in Australia going up against the best in Asian Football.
