The official entry of Star Cinema to the currently held Metro Manila Film Festival 2012 sets a new first day record in box office sales. According to the figures released by MMDA, Sisterakas sets an opening day sales of around P39.2 Million. Updates: For Day 2 Gross Sales of Sisterakas
The movie featuring Ai Ai delas Alas, Kris Aquino and Vice Ganda shows a substantial leap from the first-day record sales set by “Si Agimat at si Enteng kabisote” (2010) and “Enteng ng Ina Mo” (2011). Both films earned P31 Million and P38.5 Million, respectively.
Meanwhile the Queen of All Media, Kris Aquino have a different figures with regards to first day gross income of Sisterakas. Kris tweeted that their film have set a record, as the highest single day earnings for any Philippine made film in history at P40.7 Million.
Other entries of the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festivals have also enjoyed with good figures in terms of first day sales. The latest of the “Enteng” film franchise, “Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote, at Si Ako,” came in second with P29.5 Million.
The romance drama “One More Try” got the third spot with P13.6 Million while the horror film “Shake, Rattle and Roll 14: The Invasion” rounded up the top four with a total first day gross at P10.5 Million. Updates: For Day 2 Gross Sales of Sisterakas
