Chieffy Caligdong Awarded with TOYM 2012

Chieffy Caligdong, one of the main man of the Philippine Azkals was recognized and will receive an award as one of The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) of 2012.

For more than a decade, Caligdong was instrumental in the Philippines rise to football stardom in Southeast Asia and the Philippines.

According to the organization who acknowledged Caligdong’s excellence, they stated that “No Filipino player has better captured the imagination of the public since the height of football’s popularity in the Philippines six decades ago.” they stated.

Caligdong was even compared to Argentine football legend, Diego Maradona, who brought numerous titles to Argentina.”

The TOYM awards are given every year to a select number Filipinos to recognize significant contributions to the country in different fields.
