The Big Boss of Top Rank Bob Arum is currently working on finalizing a deal for Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire to defend his WBO Super Bantamweight/Junior Featherweight Title against Mexican warrior Jorge Arce.
The target date of their world title bout will be on December 15. Arum stated that they are currently working things out and maybe on Wednesday or Thursady a decision will be made.
The Filipino champion Donaire came from an impressive 9th round TKO win over Japanese WBC champion emeritus Toshiaki Nishioka is now slowly gaining momentum in world’s pound for pound boxers.
According to Donaire he was advised by his doctors that he would need to rest his injured left hand during his last fight for one month before he could work on his skills as a boxer.
Although he was advised not to use his left hand, the Pinoy champion stated that he could concentrate on his strength and conditioning regimen while his left hand heals.
Donaire’s hand injury needed eight stitches, although wounded during the fight he was still able to knocked down his opponent.
Meanwhile during the early days of a possible Jorge Arce fight, the Mexican back out as he was reportedly demanding a purse of $1 Million which was more than the purse of the four-division champion Donaire.
Nonito Donaire is also prepared for a possible fight with Arce in a hostile arena. The Donaire vs. Arce fight will likely to happen in Mexico.
