Austrian daredevil jumper Felix Baumgartner broke some world records as he successfully made an astonishing achievement for jumping from the edge of the Earth at more than 128,000 feet above the ground.
Felix Baumgartner officially broke the world records set by his mentor, Joe Kittinger and some other world renowned records. He is now the first man on the planet to break the speed of sound with no mechanical propulsion, exceeding 1 mach—just him and Earth’s gravity.
Some of the world records broken by Felix Baumgartner:
- Highest altitude ever-achieved by any human in a balloon.
- World’s highest jump.
- Fastest man on Earth without any kind of mechanical propulsion.
- Supersonic speed record by any human breaking the speed of sound.
- Improve the safety of astronauts by sending telemetry data.
Before his jump here’s the last word Felix have stated:
I wish you could see what I can see. Sometimes you have to be up really high to see how small you are.
I’m going home now.
