The Philippine Olympic Team delegates to the 2012 London Olympics suffered another setback after Hidilyn Diaz failed to lift on her turn at the 2012 Olympics Weightlifting competition on Monday at ExCel, London.

The 21-year-old weightlifter from Zamboanga could not complete the lift at her round of 118 kilograms and she’s the only lifter who did not register a total score in the Group B of the women’s 58-kilogram division.

The athlete, Hidilyn Diaz looked fine after a successful 97 kg. lift, she just reach 90 kg. on her first try but she failed on her third attempt in the snatch at 97 in the second.

Maria Alexandra Guerrero Escobar of Ecuador top the field of eight in Group B where she lifted 103 in the snatch and 123 in the clean and jerk for a 226 total.

The 18-year-old British Zoe Smith, lifted 90 and 121 for 211 and Christin Ulrich of Germany had a total of 207 (93-114).

Meanwhile the Philippine boxing bet Mark Anthony Barriga will be fighting for the first time in the round of 32 for the Light Flyweight Boxing competition. Barriga will go up against the Italian Manuel Cappai.
