Donnie Nietes was able to dominate the Mexican visitor Felipe Salguero with a unanimous decision after 12 rounds of action at the Resorts World Hotel, Newport Performing Arts Theatre, Pasay City, Metro Manila.
The depending WBO Light Flyweight champion, Donnie “Ahas” Nietes retained his belt via Unanimous Decision with all judges scoring in favor of the Filipino (115-113, 116-112, 116-112).
The Filipino pugilist from Murcia, Negros Occidental dominated the entire 12 rounds, unleashing heavy punches to the body. The uppercut were undefended by the Mexican, Salguero. Nietes’ dominance over Salguero proved once again that he was a worthy world champion.
Meanwhile the main supporting bout were also dominated by Filipino fighters, Melin Melindo defeated Geles with a First Round Technical Knock-out for the WBO International Flyweight Title.
On the other supporting bout Genesis Servania defeated Genaro Garcia via TKO in Round 12 for the WBC International Silver Super Bantamweight Title.
