FEU Lady Tamaraws beats Adamson Lady Falcons advances to semi-finals

Far Eastern University Lady tamaraws defeated the Adamson Lady Falcons in Women’s Volleyball tournament and enters the fourth playoff finals of the UAAP Season 74.

The Tamaraws was able to swift the Adamson in a three straight sets with scores of 25-19, 25-17 and 26-24. Through the effort of the whole team lead by Rosemarie Vargas who showed incredible performance in terms of Blocking.

Setter Gyzelle Sy made an extra effort in the team to give good sets to Vargas who earned 19 points, Marie Toni Basas and Wenneth Eulalio both contributed 8 points.

This win of FEU made the Adamson fall from the final 4 of UAAP Women’s Volleybal for the first time since 2005.

The Lady Falcons had a rough game since the setter of the team Mae Macatuno had injury and was substituted by Matet Piza who has less experience in the position.

Adamson have tried their best to coup up against the Tamaraws but they came short, Sheila Pineda was the one who lead the Lady Falcons with 11 points while Veteran Paul Soriano had 8.

The poor floor defense and coverage of Adamson became the advantage of the FEU team where they were able to lunch a total of 43 attacks.

Lady Tamaraws will now face the University of Sto. Thomas Tigresses in the final 4 on Wednesday who ever wins will match the Ateneo Lady Eagles.

Meanwhile the defending champion De La Salle Lady Archers are in waiting position to fight for the championship of UAAP season 74 Womens Volleyball.
