Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and to spend with the heart’s momentous day, even though you’re single or not, watching a romantic movie might ending your day absolutely teary-eyed but happy. So, well, “The Vow” is highly recommended to you.

“The Vow,” which will be off to big screen this February 10 is a romantic drama directed by Michael Sucsy, starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams. The movie tells the tale of a love story of a young couple’s relationship that has put to the challenge when a car accident seriously injures Paige (Rachel McAdams), places her in a coma and had her severe memory loss. Her husband Leo (Channing Tatum) then works to win her heart again.

Yes, this story is certainly about love but there are five things that you might not know and got to know about the movie.

First, the film is starred by Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams who had met their significant others in a movie set. Tatum met his wife, Jenna Dewan, while filming the scintillating dance flick “Step Up” last 2005 and Rachel met her boyfriend Michael Sheen on the set of “Midnight in Paris.”

Both couples kept things professional, though, and didn’t start dating until after shooting wrapped.

Second, I know that when we talk about “romantic movie,” we start to think of Nicholas Sparks. But even though “The Vow” is a romantic movie starred by the two savvy veterans of two favorite romances based on Sparks’ novels “The Notebook” and “Dear John,” Nicholas Sparks has nothing to do with “The Vow.”

Third, “The Vow” isn’t just a plain romantic movie because it is based on a true love story of Krickitt and Kim Carpenter who were married for the first time in the fall of 1993 but ten weeks later, the couple were in a severe car accident which left Krickitt in a coma.

When Krickitt emerged a month later, she thought the year was 1969 and that Nixon was still president. Tests soon determined that Krickitt had lost the prior 18 months of her memory, including all recollection of Kim — from meeting him to marrying him. After a therapist recommended the couple should try dating as a means of reacquainting themselves, until in 1996, Krickitt and Kim remarried. Until now, the Carpenters are still married with their two kids.

Fourth, there are a number of differences between the film and the story it’s based on. In the movie, before the accident happened, the film couple work and live as artists, which Tatum plays a musician and McAdams plays a sculptor. But in real life, Krickitt was working as a sales rep for a sportswear company when she cold-called Kim regarding jackets for the university baseball team that he coached.

And lastly, the movie had one scene where McAdams and Tatum get down to their skivvies and go skinny dipping in a frigid lake. The scene was filmed at night during the late autumn in Toronto, so everyone was expecting it to be cold and miserable, but when the stars took the plunge beneath the stars, they found the water to be delightful. The “bathwater” was so nice, they didn’t want to get out. They even watched the sun come up. McAdams couldn’t believe their luck saying: “It’s never like that when you have to do a water scene. It’s normally like torture and you say ‘I’m never making another movie ever again.”
