An estimated 8 million devotees flocked to celebrate with the Annual Feast of the Black Nazarene today January 9, 2011. An unexpected incident happened when the railings which served as barricade collapsed during the procession at Quirino Grandstand.
According to the initial report most of the victims were hurt and wounded but there is no recorded casualty. Emergency services were making first aide treatment to the victims.
The stampede took place in the morning, although precautionary measures were made but hard-headed individuals continued to get closer to the image of the Black Nazarene.
