Norway the latest target of terrorist attacks after two incidents have been reported. The first was the bombing at Oslo,the capital of Norway which was hit by a huge explosion. The blast took place near a 17-story government building which housed the office of the Prime Minister and also a headquarters of Norway’s largest tabloid paper, VC.
The other attacked had targeted a Youth Camp in an island outside of Oslo, Norway. The attacked were believed to be coordinated and the suspects were Al-Qaeda militants although the group have not admitted that they were involved in one of the worst terrorist attacked happened ni Oslo, Norway.
The attacked on the building of the Prime Minister’s office had caused the life of at least 7 people and dozens of citizens injured during the detonation. Windows were shattered the blasts have more than half-a-mile radius. Tables on the basement of the tabloids cafeteria have been smeared by blood. Gl(–foul word(s) removed–) and debris have also scattered on the basement caused by the bombing.
According to police authorities the possible target of the attacked was the Prime Minister of Norway, which happens to be at his home while the incidents happened. Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg was scheduled to attend a youth gathering on an annual summer camp in an island, near Oslo, a target also of the coordinated attacked. There were no injuries happened to the Prime Minister and members of his staff and the cabinet.
Meanwhile another incident happened in the island of Utoya, a lake west of Oslo. It was the site of the gathering of more than 700 youths. They belongs to the youth members of the Labour Party. The youth gathering came under fire when a man in Police uniform had open fired to the victims by using his automatic rifles. It was estimated that the fake policeman had killed at least nine people and injuring more than 30 youths.
As of these writing it is still unclear who was behind the attacked. There were some speculations that the attacked were coordinated because of the timing and the target was the same the Prime Minister, first on his office and then on his scheduled trip.
With the recent incidents targeting Norway, the lapses on their intelligence agency have been reviewed. Norway had been supporting the fight against terrorism therefore exposing them as a possible target. It was previously reported that the Norwegian capital was a target of terrorist attacked lead by a group who called themselves “Helpers of the Global Jihad.”
The group had posted a message online claiming that “the attack was only the beginning.” The group have retaliated against after the Norwegian government allowed to published a cartoon by Scandinavian Press portraying the Prophet Muhammad. Norway had also sent troops to Afghanistan and fighter planes doing flying sorties in Libya.
