Another hacking incident has been reported and this time it was Vice President Binay’s Official website which was targeted by the hackers.
The group behind the hacking revealed themselves as the Philker and has sent a message to the OVP’s official website introducing their group.
Philker’s said that they are composed of Philippine hackers who have the talent when it comes to the areas of cyber security, human manipulation and visual graphics. The group admitted that they are doing this for the progress of cyber culture in the country.
Spokesperson from the Office of the Vice President, Joey Salgado released a statement in behalf of Vice President Binay regarding the incident and said that they already communicated the government agency who handles this kind of issue for proper action.
While the Office of the OVP has expressed their disappointment about what happened and said that it is quiet unfortunate that their website was hacked by intruders. What they are looking forward now is an action from the government agency (–foul word(s) removed–)igned to it for faster resolve of the issue.
Recent reports also suggest that in the past months, some of the government agencies where also hacked including the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and the Malacanang expressed their alarm on it.
In response to what happened, Edwin Lacierda presidential spokesperson said that they have created a task force that will help review the security in all websites linking to the government.
Other countries are also in fear about these hacking incidents knowing that most of the targets are those who hold high position in the government, journalist and Chinese political activists.
