After the issue that surrounded Apple in regards with the secret encrypted file in their gadgets, iPhone and iPad, they now releases an update with the software that secretly tracks location of users.

The controversy started when security researchers found out that there is a hidden file on both devices containing a record of everywhere they had been.

According to the two security researchers, if certain software will be used in the device, it is possible that it can generate a map of all the movements of a person using the device.

However, Apple strongly denied the allegation that they are using the information to track user’s location and explained that there is only a bug in the software.

The latest update with the software is now available in iTunes store Nationwide. Apple cuts down the amount of data stored to just one week and no longer transfer it to the owners computer if such devices is connected.

It also now has an option for users to disable the location service setting on their iPhone or iPad if they want to stop the software in collecting information.

The permission to track data was given to the users, although hidden away in the terms and conditions for the iTunes store.

Those data’s who were collected by the software logged via cell towers and wi-fi access points.

The secret capability of the software to track and store user’s location was brought to light in a blog post by the two security researchers Alasdair Allan and Peter Warden.

According to Mr. Allan, he said that all this time he was not aware and did not expected that there was any sort of conspiracy is going on.

But he added that both of them were worried about this level of detailed data being collected by the Apple and being out there in the wild. “While the cell phone operators already have this data, it takes a court order to obtain it from them. You can now do the equivalent by simply leaving your iPhone in a bar. That doesn’t seem right to me.” Mr. Allan said.
