Archeologists Seeking Explanation about the Discovered Ancient Codices in Early Christianity

The British archaeologists are still searching to confirm what be a landmark discovery in the documentation of early Christianity. The discovered trove has 70 lead codices that were dated from the first century CE, it may include clues of Jesus’ life during His last days.

Reporter Fiona Macrae of UK Daily Mail written that some of the researchers are pushing that the trove could be an important find in the Christian archaeology before the Dead Sea scrolls discovered in 1947.

The codices were found five years ago in a cave in eastern Jordan, this place might be where early Christian believers transferred after the demolition of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 CE. The pages of the trove were rough and it size of a credit card, it is bounded by wire. It is composed of textual allusions to the Messiah and some images, also some keys to the crucifixion and resurrection, and some codices were sealed it’s as if that it will be only shown to the Messiah.

BBC translated few sentences, “I shall walk uprightly”–a phrase that also appears in Revelation. “While it could be simply a sentiment common in Judaism,” and according to Robert Pigott BBC writer it could refer to the resurrection.

Investigators are more cautious because the field of biblical archaeology may also lead to plenty of hoaxes. As to the initial metallurgical research the codices aged 2,000 years old they based it on the manner of corrosion.
