Disputing the spreading rumour that the Philippines is at risk in an acid rain with nuclear radiation mixture due to the explosion in Fukushima plant, the government together with Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that the Philippines is acid rain free.
This is after the growing threat of the radiation effects after quake had hit Japan. The scare took place when numerous text messages were spread advising the public to wear coats, and other important body covering when exposing outdoors, but DOTC said that this text messages didn’t came from them and that there was no significant basis.
However, they (–foul word(s) removed–)ured the public that no threat is being seen for the country with regards to the meltdown of two reactors in Fukushima.
Instead of minding those baseless news and text messages even on e-mails, people were advised not to put themselves into panic for there is nothing to worry about.
It was further said that the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute were having close monitioring on the progress of whatever harm the casualties in Fukushima Nuclear plant might cause to the country.

As reported, it was said that chances for experiencing acid rain in the Philippines is less since air from Japan will not reach the country.
