The Philippines is included in the elite list of the Top 10 Countries to Visit this Year 2014 according to the list released by one of the world’s leading travel site, Rough Guides.

The travel company Rough Guides started their rankings of the Top 10 Countries to Visit during the year 1992. The 2014 list ranked the Philippines in the 10th spot as they cited the archipelago’s “dazzling array of pristine reefs, volcanoes, sleepy backpacker islands and the famed rice terraces.
Rough Guides also noted that the Philippines recently suffered blow from one of the world’s deadliest super typhoon “Yolanda” (Haiyan) during the early days of November 2013.
According to Rough Guides, tourism has become even more important to the Philippines, bringing crucial support to the economy. An estimated 97% of the country remains unaffected, including Boracay.
The international travel authority, Rough Guides, encouraged European travelers to visit the Philippines even citing direct flights from London to Manila.
Some of the most interesting places that travelers should not miss to visit are Boracay, Ati-Atihan Festival, El Nido Resort in Palawan, Banaue Rice Terraces, Vigan City, Coron Island in Palawan, Chocolate Hills in Bohol and the San Agustin Church in Manila, the resting place of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi.
