TJ Monterde No. 1 OPM Artist, Reaches 1 Billion On Spotify

The rise of TJ Monterde in the local music scene and his upcoming concerts.

Singer-songwriter TJ Monterde achieved milestones on Spotify and here are the upcoming concerts he is to do.

TJ Monterde has been writing and singing songs for over a decade now but it was in 2024 when he really reached the peak of his music career. This was after he released his song “Palagi” which became the official theme song of “Hello, Love, Again“, the highest-grossing Filipino movie.

Early in his career which began in 2012, he started releasing songs online and playing small gigs. His song “Palagi”, apart from being the theme song of PH’s top-grossing film, is also a staple in weddings.

He just recently concluded his 3-night sold-out solo Araneta Coliseum concert. He made history as the first male solo Filipino act to sell out three straight nights at the Big Dome. He serenaded the crowd with his old and new hits like “Ikaw at Ako,” “Puhon,” “Huling Luha,” and more.

Some of the surprise guests were Arthur Nery and K-drama OST singer 10CM. One of the highlights of this was when he and KZ Tandingan were awarded by Billboard Philippines for being the number one song on the Hot 100 Billboard Philippines and number one as well on the Billboard Philippines Top Philippine Songs chart.

He is definitely pulling it off breakthrough by breakthrough.

After the three-day sold-out “Sarili Nating Mundo” concerts at the Big Dome, he was declared the most-streamed Filipino artist on Spotify for the first time. The song “Palagi” by TJ & KZ is Billboard Philippines’ No. 1 song of 2024 and the same song has been streamed one billion times on Spotify.
