Born on January 6, 1966 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Santa Mesa, Manila, Sharon Cuneta’s real name is Sharon Gamboa Cuneta-Pangilinan. She is the daughter of former Pasay Mayor Pablo Cuneta and Elaine Gamboa. Her mother is the sister of veteran actress-singer Helen Gamboa. They live in Makati.
Growing up, Sharon is really inclined to music. She took piano, guitar, and flute lessons. Her dad has a record collection while her mother was a Piano major at the University of Santo Tomas’ Conservatory of Music.
In 1981, Sharon dated Gabby Concepcion, her on-screen partner then. Their reel partnership turned into a real-life romantic relationship. Three (3) years after they first worked together, they officially tied the knot at the Manila Cathedral. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter – KC Concepcion. However, in 1987, they separated.
In 1994, Sharon Cuneta met now-Senator Kiko Pangilinan at the wedding of her brother. They dated, became a couple, and got married. Their marriage is blessed with two (2) daughters, Frankie and Miel, and an adoptive son, Miguel.

Sharin started as a singer. She was only 12 years old when her uncle, Sen. Tito Sotto, asked her to record Tawag ng Pag-Ibig. He was the vice president of Vicor Records then. Several songs followed it including Mr. DJ which is one of her most popular songs. It was then that other opportunities including TV hosting and acting came her way. She was paired with several of the most sought-after leading men in the industry then.
