Born on March 19, 1995, Julia Montes’ real name is Mara Hautea Schnittka. She is a German-Filipino born to a Filipina, Gemma Hautea, and a German father, Martin Shnittka, in Pandacan, Manila. However, the father of the actress left her and her mother when she was still a baby. Her mom raised her with the help of her grandmother, Flory Hautea. She has two younger brothers named Patrick and Paolo.
Julia finished high school at Blessed Hope Christian School. She performs well in academics. With regards to her dream, she always dream of becoming either a soldier, a flight attendant, or a chef.

Julia was only five (5) years old when she started attending modeling events and auditions.
