JM de Guzman’s Personal Background
Born on September 9, 1988, JM de Guzman’s real name is Juan Miguel Gob de Guzman. He is the son of Han Carteciano Gob and Ronniel de Guzman. He spent his elementary years at Lourdes School of Quezon City. In college, he enrolled at the University of the Philippines and took a Certificate in Theater Arts major in Performance Studies. He was an actor and production staff apprentice at Dulaang UP, the theater group of the college.
JM is also into martial arts and wrestling. He was the president of UP Wrestling Club and he also joined and won competitions – as well as martial arts feats. JM de Guzman’s age now is 32 years old.
JM de Guzman’s Showbiz Career
In 2009, JM auditioned for Last Supper Number 3, an entry to the Cinemalaya Festival. He bagged a role and that was where ABS-CBN unit head director Lauren Dyogi found him. He asked him to audition for Midnight Phantom and he passed the screening.
Opportunities continued to come JM’s way since then. Among his most popular roles are Gabriel Maglayon, his character in the 2011 remake of Mula Sa Puso, and Angelito in the TV series Angelito: Ang Batang Ama which was aired from November 2011 to April 2012.
Currently, the fans and supporters of JM de Guzman await his next character portrayal in the upcoming TV series Init Sa Magdamag. He top-bills the said Kapamilya program with actress Yam Concepcion and actor Gerald Anderson.
