Some celebrities in showbiz in the Philippines started young in their career through talent search shows. One of them is Kapamilya actor Aljur Abrenica.
The actor joined StarStruck, a talent search show of GMA-7 network, in 2006. Aljur Abrenica‘s age then was only 16 and he won the title the “Ultimate Hunk”. A huge door of opportunities in the showbiz industry opened for him. In September 2007, he inked a deal with Regal Films.
As a Kapuso actor, Aljur top-billed several projects including Zaido: Ang Pulis Pangkalawakan, Kambal Sirena, and Once Again. He was also part of the cast of Boys Nxt Door, SOP Rules, and Luna Mystica. The popular Yes!Magazine named him as the next big male star.
However, in 2014, Aljur Abrenica and GMA-7 Network had an issue as the actor wanted freedom from the network citing his career did not go as plan. He still got lead projects and he worked under the network until the expiry of his contract in March 2017.
Five months after his contract with the Kapuso network expired, Aljur Abrenica transferred to ABS-CBN, his current home network. His first project was a lead role in Asintado, an afternoon TV series.
Aljur Abrenica‘s age now is 31 years old. He is married to Kylie Padilla and they’re blessed with two (2) sons – Alas Joaquin and Axl Romeo.
