Baron Geisler Apologizes, Facebook Rants

Controversial actor Baron Geisler apologizes over his rant criticizing President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign against the illegal drugs trade in the Philippines.

In earlier reports, Geisler posted videos on Facebook expressing his contradiction on the said “extra-judicial kil1ings” (EJK) being accused to the Philippine National Police (PNP) as there are already thousands of lives being taken in the “Oplan Tukhang” by the uniformed authorities.

In an interview on DZMM Teleradyo, Baron Geisler admitted that he has said certain things in the past weeks but, according to him, he never mentioned any specific names on his previous rants.

He also hopes that the media would be more “sympathetic” to the cause and “not be too quick to take things out of context.”

In a report by ABS-CBN, the said apology was after Geisler reportedly called on the President to allow his sons to undergo drug test together with him. The said dare video has been uploaded on social media but has been deleted since.

Geisler added that even though there are things and methods that he doesn’t agree with the new administration’s actions over the illegal drugs campaign, he pointed out that he is supporting the Duterte government against the ‘war on drugs’.

“There may be some things that I don’t necessarily agree with regarding the methodology in weeding out the culprits in this much-needed purge, but I want to make it clear that I support the new government’s hard-nosed stand in its fight against this drug menace,” Geisler said.
