Sen Revilla Praises Immediate Action Against the Suspect in DLSU Student Slay
Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr lauded the immediate arrest of the suspect in the slaying of a De La Salle University (DLSU) female student.
The senator applauded the arrest of the culprit in the murder of a student in her dormitory in Dasmariñas City, Cavite, in the statement. Revilla, a Caviteo native, congratulated everyone who worked tirelessly to apprehend the perpetrator, subsequently identified as Angelito Erlano.
“Kinikilala natin si Provincial Director Col. Christopher Olazo at si Mayor Jenny Barzaga na hindi nagpahinga hanggang mahuli itong si Erlano,” said Revilla, based in an article.
To rapidly apprehend the perpetrator in Daguinsin’s murder, officials offered a reward of up to P1.1 million, P300,000 of which purportedly came from Revilla himself. Authorities detained Erlano on Saturday for the suspected murder of Queen Leanne Daguinsin, 24, a graduating student at De La Salle University (DLSU)-Dasmarinas.
On March 28, a 24-year-old computer science student in Dasmarinas, Cavite, was discovered dead in his dormitory after allegedly sustaining 14 stab wounds. The suspect even attempted to assault one of the officers who apprehended him, according to the Cavite Police Provincial Office (CPPO).
According to CPPO, the 39-year-old suspect was apprehended at a residence around 10:40 a.m. When Erlano was discovered hiding at the residence of one of his acquaintances in Barangay Victoria Reyes, officers from the Provincial Intelligence Unit and the Dasmarias City Police Station were conducting a follow-up operation.
The suspect will face robbery with homicide and direct assault on a person in authority charges. The suspect was previously involved in thefts, according to the police record.
