Ara Mina & Husband Dave Almarinez Unveils New Business
ARA MINA -Actress Ara Mina and her husband former government executive Dave Almarinez recently unveiled their new business.
Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) president and CEO Dave Almarinez and actress Ara Mina got married on June 30, 2021. They exchanged their vows at Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges Chapel in Baguio.
Based on a report from PUSH, the couple built a new business called AForce Ventures Inc. Its office is located in BGC, Taguig and the blessing and inauguration was held on March 6, 2023.
AForce Ventures is three years in the making. It did not operate immediately due to the COVID-19 pandemic and both the couple was busy with various commitments. AForce Ventures is a holding company that according to Investopedia is “a company that owns other companies and oversees their operations but exists solely to operate those subsidiaries.”
“Nahahati sa dalawa ang trabaho namin. Una, yung sa mga existing companies na established na that we do joint ventures with.
“Some of them are from foreign countries and they wish to actually do business in the Philippines. Naghahanap sila ng partners that will actually grow with them and guide them. We provide learning terms na mas maiksi.
“And with the experience that we have—me in business and trade and si Ara sa media, entertainment, lifestyle and beauty; plus my sister, si Dr. Geraldine So, who’s in charge of the health technology sector—combining those with several other partners in AForce Ventures na mga seasoned entrepreneurs na, mga talagang may track record na. Yon ang bitbit namin para sa kanila to guide them,” explained Dave who graduated from the Global Strategic Management course at Harvard Business School.

According to the report, Dave Almarinez said that their business also aims to help neophyte entrepreneurs to succeed in their business. “Tutulungan din namin yung mga startup… yung mga new entrepreneurs. Mainly Filipinos ang focus. But siyempre, minsan may mga opportunities abroad like sa Southeast Asia or sa America or Europe. Kaya kami nagta-travel ni Ara. Ang gusto namin, mabigyan ng opportunities to partner with Filipino entrepreneurs na makilala rin hindi lang sa Pilipinas but also to become regional players in Southeast Asia or Asian region and even potentially, maging global players, sa mga concepts or ideas na meron sila,” he said.
Ara Mina obviously enjoys what she’s doing because she encounters a lot of millennials who are all about innovative businesses or apps. She also joins Dave’s business meetings abroad.
“Actually, lagi akong nakakasama sa mga dealings so we were in Hungary. Sinasabay lang yung mga honeymoon. Nag-Hong Kong din kamin dahil yung isang partner niya nando’n din. Tapos nag-Korea din kami,” she said.
“We try to maximize our time rin siyempre if there’s an opportunity. Hindi naman araw-araw may opportunity, so we grab that opportunity kung sa tingin namin fit don sa bini-build naming negosyo,” Dave’s reaction to this.
Are they ready to be separated from each other when their AForce Ventures prosper abroad?
“Dahil partner kami, lagi naming napag-uusapan yung potential opportunities. So kung dumating yung pagkakataon na yon and siguro it may happen, so paghahandaan din namin. Pero mas maganda siyempre na magkasama kami kasi hindi lang naman personal ang relationship but also yung professional dinadala na rin namn sa hanapbuhay namin,” Dave gave a straight answer that Ara agreed with.
