Bongbong Marcos On P20/Kilo Rice: Coming Soon
BONGBONG MARCOS – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said rice will soon be sold at P25 per kilogram.
The reduction in rice prices is one of the expectations of many people for the current administration. Such optimism was sparked by the country’s current high cost of living and the president’s wish for rice to be priced at P20 per kilo.
President Bongbong Marcos discussed a variety of topics during Toni Gonzaga’s vlog conversation with him, including his role as the Department of Agriculture Secretary. He claims that by pushing for the expansion of the agriculture sector, he will be able to improve the nation’s economy. He thinks that in order to provide the Filipino people with inexpensive and affordable food, the value chain of agricultural production needs to be altered.
Based on a report from Inquirer, Bongbong Marcos declared that one of his campaign promises—rice for P20 per kilo—would soon become a reality. He made the statement at the opening of the “Kadiwa ng Pangulo” in the province of Camarines Sur, where rice is sold at P25 per kilogram in the outlet.
“Ang aking pangarap na sinabi na bago ako umupo na sana maipababa natin ang presyo ng bigas ng P20, hindi pa tayo umaabot doon, dahan-dahan palapit na. Nasa P25 na tayo, kaunti na lang maibababa natin yan,” BBM said.
The 65-year-old president said that the government is also making an effort to bring down the prices of onion.

According to the report, the Kadiwa project, which was initially known as the “Kadiwa ng Pasko” during the Christmas season, was enlarged to become the “Kadiwa ng Pangulo” in order to better supply consumers with fresh and reasonably priced agricultural and fishery products.
The Kadiwa outlet in Camarines Sur now has twenty sellers or partners. Malacañang said three farmers’ cooperatives, four micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, as well as three individual young farmers, also offer their goods.
The project will assist local farmers, fishermen, and small businesses who were severely impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, in addition to assisting Filipinos in coping with the repercussions of high costs of goods, according to Marcos.
Based on the report, the Kadiwa initiative establishes a direct and effective farm-to-consumer food supply chain, cutting out middlemen and enabling the general population to purchase foodstuffs at lower prices.
Almost 500 Kadiwa stores are already located throughout the nation, according to Marcos, who also promised that the government will open more locations.
